Description
Lewiston-Clarkston Partners Habitat for Humanity serves Asotin County Washington and Nez Perce County Idaho. It is an ecumenical Christian based volunteer organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing and homelessness from our service area. Habitat builds decent affordable houses in partnership with families in need. It is not a giveaway but a "hands up program". These homes have between 1000 to 1200 square feet of living space, dependent upon family size, and have no garage or carport.
The Lewiston-Clarkston Partners organization became an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International in 1991. Since then the local affiliate has constructed 21 new homes and remodeled one home. The homes are sold to partner families in need at no profit on a twenty-year no interest mortgage. The partner families receive a new home for about $350 per month that includes principal, taxes and insurance.
