To serve the needs of the Louisville Metro community and special/exceptional needs children.
Description
The Louisville Metro Community Action Partnership (CAP) Foster Grandparent Program (FGP) and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) will be conducting MLK activities on Monday, January 18, 2010 with children at all four Louisville Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs:
Newburg Club, Parkland Club, Portland Club and South Louisville Club.
In partnership with Service for Peace and the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs, the curriculum and goals will include the following:
1. Teaching the importance of the 40 Days of Peace.
2. How the 40 Days of Peace relates to the Dream of Dr. King.
3. How to use and follow the Peace Ambassador's Journal
Activities, including refreshments for the children and volunteers, will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and end at 12 noon.
