The mission of the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History is to promote the legacy of Miss Lucy Craft Laney through art, history and the preservation of her home.

Description

OUR OBJECTIVES/GOALS

  • To promote the legacy of Miss Lucy Craft Laney;

  • To provide historical information on notable African-Americans with an Augusta connection;

  • To offer art exhibits, workshops, and lectures of artistic and cultural interest and significance to the Central Savannah River Area;

  • To serve as a venue for individual artists to exhibit their works;

  • To maintain and preserve a facility of great historical significance;

  • To provide public service for educational, cultural, and economic development.
