Mission Statement

Our mission is to empower kids to expand their possibilities through fishing. We strive to give disadvantaged kids an opportunity to develop skills and enhance their self esteem. Since 1994 we've delivered a program titled "Teach a Child to Fish" to teach inner-city youth sport fishing and safe boating. We teach the kids to fish and enjoy the outdoors while teaching life skills to stay off drugs, in school and out of gangs. We provide afterschool, out of school and Saturday programs.

Description

We are a non-profit 501c3 corporation that since 1994 has delivered a program titled "Teach a Child to Fish" designed to teach sport fishing and safe boating to inner-city youth (ages 6-18) in South Florida. We provide afterschool, out of school and Saturday programs. We teach the kids how to fish, boat and enjoy the outdoors while teaching life skills to stay off drugs and out of gangs using Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs curriculum developed by the American Sports Association. Our staff and volunteers are thoroughly trained, certified and insured. They mentor the kids and the kids have fun.
