Mission Statement

The mission of Stride Ahead is to use horses to empower people in need in DeKalb County and Georgia to achieve their highest potential. We use proven methods to provide transformative learning experiences in personal, social, educational, and physical development.


Description

Stride Ahead produces a tremendous return on a donor's investment. Partnering with DeKalb County, the facilities used by Stride Ahead are available at virtually no cost. The greatest portion of the work performed for in-need populations is performed by volunteers who are trained by volunteer equine professionals.

Leveraging existing resources to provide short term programs for school children at-risk, it can change the trajectory of their lives. By using the extraordinary power of horses, the children are taught lessons in responsibility, respect, and leadership that has been shown to change their probable future. These programs help them reach their highest potential.

Stride Ahead does great work making a lasting difference to the people they serve. But there is also a culture to the organization that everyone, Volunteers, Clients,parents of Clients, Donors, everybody, who comes into contact with them gets their higher self nourished.
