Mission Statement
UNICEF Tap Project is a life-saving initiative that provides safe drinking water to children around the world by enlisting the support of volunteers, restaurant managers and owners, corporate partners, community groups, advertising agencies and other interested parties. In 2009, the UNICEF Tap Project secured more than $819,000 in total donations in the United States; more than 2.2 billion national media impressions; more than $16 million of pro bono advertising, editorial and broadcast media; and enlisted over 1,500 participating restaurants and more than 3,100 volunteers.
Since 2007, the UNICEF Tap Project has raised nearly 1.5 million dollars in the U.S. and has helped to provide clean water to millions of children around the world.
Description
During World Water Week, March 21-27, 2010, the UNICEF Tap Project will once again raise funding for and awareness of what many of us enjoy every day: the availability of clean and plentiful water and access to sanitation facilities.
Washington, DC is one of UNICEF Tap Project's focus cities and is enlisting the help of volunteers to recruit the participation of restaurants, arrange and host small fundraisers, generate awareness and get involved in other ways.
