Mission Statement

Orphan Animal Rescue & Sanctuary rescues, rehabilitates and finds homes for pets in need, one at a time. At the adoption center, our focus is primarily cats, who enjoy a cage-free life here. Dogs (and some cats) live with our foster home volunteers until finding a home of their own.

Our focus is to save the lives of animals one at a time, working primarily with overcrowded shelters. We do not accept public surrenders. We provide compassion, love and the highest quality of care for each animal in a comfortable environment, and work to find a suitable adopter for each pet.

Orphan Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. is a nonprofit, no-kill, volunteer-driven 501 (c)(3) animal rescue that consists of a humble pet adoption center, a network of foster care homes and community partners in Northeast Wisconsin.

We were founded in September 2008 by animal lovers who saw the need within the Fox Cities community to save the lives of more homeless pets and move toward a future in which there are no more homeless pets in Wisconsin.

We primarily help cats and kittens but also help dogs as capacity is available.

The pets we help primarily come from other local rescue groups and humane organizations when they need help or are over-capacity. We pride ourselves on the high standards of quality care we provide to each and every animal. We feed quality foods and adhere to high standards to ensure the best medical care is given to all the pets in our care.

We receive no funding; we rely completely on donations and fundraising efforts to save the lives of the homeless pets in our care. There is always have a waiting list of pets in need.

Our goal is to spread education and our compassion to the community to create actionable impact. Through the development of educational and outreach initiatives, we reach the community with our message about the importance of spaying and neutering and treating animal companions with respect and dignity.

With your help, we can create a network of animal lovers who will change the world--one homeless pet and one person at a time.

The adoption center is very homey, so the cats aren't living in kennels, but rather each adoption room has its own personality and the cats have many perches and cozy spots to feel at home until they're adopted. This is a hard-working group of individuals, and there is always a need for adoption room attendants to help keep this facility clean for these cats. Dogs live in foster homes, but will visit the adoption center on occasion. It is a grassroots rescue; the board has the animals' best interest at heart, keeping the population manageable to ensure the best level of care.
