Description

The Charlotte Steeplechase Association, Inc. is a 501©3 non-profit organization that hosts the Queen's Cup Steeplechase annually on the last Saturday in April. The horse races are held at the farm of Brooklandwood on our permanent home and racecourse in historic Mineral Springs, NC, approximately 45 minutes from downtown Charlotte. Steeplechasing's top thoroughbreds and jockeys compete in six thrilling races over challenging brush and timber fences.

Approximately 17,000 spectators from the seven counties around Charlotte and many parts of the entire East Coast attend the Queen's Cup annually. The Queen's Cup is an all day event that runs rain or shine and offers the unique opportunity to see professional horseracing in the area, as well as, a wonderful spring day in the country for corporate entertainment and family gatherings. The gates open at 10am to a full schedule of tailgating contests, Jack Russell Terrier races, hat contests, shopping, pre-race pageantry and finally horse racing with a victory party at the end of the day. The gates close at 7pm.

Throughout our fourteen-year history, the CSA, Inc. has contributed over $435,000 to area charities. Proceeds from this year's race benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation.
