Communities In Schools of the Midlands (CIS of the Midlands) is a local non-profit organization that links children, families and schools with the resources needed for academic and social success. Many students face challenges to reaching their full potential. Problems such as family dysfunction, peer pressure, poverty and learning disabilities burden not only the student's ability to learn but the teachers ability to teach. These students need access to additional services such as tutors, lunch buddies, service learning projects, and after school programs. CIS of the Midlands builds the caring relationships needed to prepare students for lifelong success. CIS of the Midlands is a part of a national network of local programs.
