Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.

Ozarks Food Harvest (OFH) is Southwest Missouri 's only regional Food Bank. Last year OFH distributed over 12 million pounds of donated food across 28 counties through our network of 200 member agencies.
As the need for hunger relief services increases so does OFH's need for volunteers. Volunteers sort and repackage donations so that the food can be distributed back to the community as quickly as possible.
Of the 160,000 people who live in poverty in SW Missouri, more than 65,000 are children. Seniors often face hard decisions such as buying food or buying much needed medication.
Be a Hunger Hero and volunteer your time. One hour of volunteer time helps provide 105 meals to our neighbors in need. Whether you can give one day a week or 3 hours a month, your time makes a difference in our community.

Volunteering for OFH has been a very rewarding experience - knowing I am helping those in need in our community. The OFH staff and other volunteers are a joy to work with. I plan to volunteer there indefinately whenever time permits.
