Mission Statement

The Nancy Devereux Center, Inc is a 501 c (3) grassroots community based agency which was formed in 1979 by Mrs. Nancy Devereux and Mrs. Barbara Anderson ( both with children suffering with a mental illness) and as an affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, Coos County that is dedicated to helping persons with mental illness and their families The Nancy Devereux Center services are FREE to all persons with mental illness, addictions, the homeless, veterans and any families in crisis

We are enlarging our scope as a referral and information agency for; the mentally ill, persons with addictions, the homeless, veterans and their families as we seek to include local community agencies in order to prevent duplication of services, to provide continuity and promote active participation with existing community programs.

Description

Our services are Free to everyone and designed to prevent hospitalization or institutionalization and to slowly integrate those who want help back into the community with dignity, hope, passion and purpose

Our group focus is to provide tools and giving supportive solutions to each person so that they can fulfill their potential for a high quality of life, to become confident and productive individuals with the skills to functioning as independently as possible

Our long term goal is to dispel the myths and stigma associated with mental illness, addictions and the homelessness.
