Mission Statement

The mission of our Reach Out and Read program is to educate parents about the importance of reading to their pre-school children everyday. The three componenets of this program are: 1. Volunteers read to children in the waiting room thereby demonstrating to the parent the positive reaction the child has to the experience. 2. A free ethnic and age approppriate book is given to the child at every preschool well child visit. 3. The pediatrician talks to the parent about the importance of reading to the child during the visit.
