Mission Statement

Homeport's mission is to create and preserve healthy, stable and affordable communities, one neighborhood, one person at a time.

Description

Homeport provides quality, affordable homes and social services to low and moderate income households in Central Ohio.

Homeport builds both affordable apartment communities and homes for sale. In communities where our residents live, we and our partners provide social services such as afterschool and summer camp programs, book fairs, back to school supply drives, free produce markets, and linkage to other resources to make families and seniors successful renters and home owners.

Everyone from HomeportOhio was extremely friendly and great to work with. I look forward to more opportunities to volunteer with this organization.

I think that this is a great organization that so many different disciplines could benefit from working with. As someone interested in planning I love how comprehensive they are and how involved they are with different facets of the communities they service. They were also really great with working around my class and work schedule.

The Homeport staff makes volunteering great fun. Even though volunteering is work related, I never feel like I'm working because I'm doing something I truly relish, and that’s helping others. I've gained so much admiration for Homeport and the way they reach out to people in need. Volunteering with Homeport is not just a job… it’s a collaborative effort between colleagues who want to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than you and I. They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, it takes Homeport and volunteers to collaboratively build that village!

Flexible hours, fun and rewarding work. It was great, you get to work with kids in wide capacity- anything from helping with homework to throwing water balloons. Overall it was a good experience.
