Mission Statement

The Conflict Center's mission is to reduce levels of physical, verbal and emotional violence by teaching and applying skills to help people in diverse communities manage their everyday conflicts nonviolently.

Description

The Conflict Center (TCC) is a nonprofit violence prevention program, founded in 1987 to reduce levels of physical, verbal and emotional violence through hands-on practical skill building. This original mission has remained constant over 20-years, based on the belief that people of all ages, races, lifestyles and socioeconomic levels can benefit from learning social and emotional skills and learn how to solve problems and build positive relationships.

The Conflict Center has three main program areas, including schools, youth-at-risk and working with adults in organizations or through anger management classes.

We provide effective prevention programs for youth, identified as at risk for dropping out of school or who have law enforcement issues. Our school programs have seen significant reductions in fights and office referrals through teaching restorative justice principles and training teachers and administrators.

Our programs for orgnaizaions and businesses are customized to meet the needs of workplace cultures and provide effective staff development.
