Mission Statement

The Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Junior Women's Club is an open membership organization consisting of women residing in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff and surrounding Lake County communities.

The Club was founded in 1955 to promote the philanthropic, social and educational interest of its members. Social activities such as wine tasting, cooking demonstrations, and theater nights are held monthly.

In terms of supporting local charities, our club prides itself on finding ways to help other women. "Women helping other women" is our motto. Our philanthropic efforts for 2009-2010 year will go toward supporting The Lake County Haven whose mission is to shelter women and their children while providing them with skills for independent living.

Description

The Lake Forest - Lake Bluff Junior Women's Club is an open, social and philanthropic organization with monthly meetings held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm. Each month, we hold a brief general business meeting followed by a program highlighted with a guest speaker or general festivities with refreshments and snacks. Founded in 1955, the club continues today to promote friendship and community outreach through meetings and social events. Members are women who live in Lake Forest, Lake Bluff and surrounding Lake County. In terms of supporting local charities, our club prides itself on finding ways to help other women. "Women helping other women" is our motto. Our philanthropic efforts for 2009-2010 year will go toward supporting The Lake County Haven whose mission is to shelter women and their children while providing them with skills for independent living. The two major fundraisers for the year are our 1) annual Christmas Times family extravaganza and the 2) annual Scavenger Hunt with luxury limousines and hummers. All club member participate in and support both of these exciting social activities.
