Mission Statement

The University of Delaware's Office for School-To-Work and the Delaware Business / Industry / Education (BIE) Alliance have joined together. This partnership is in the business of building bridges -- between educators, their students, employers, and the communities that they serve. Their goal is to help establish and generate support for programs and services which:

  • Serve Delaware K-12 students by addressing the objectives of the Delaware Department of Education's school-to-work initiatives.
  • Expand the knowledge of teachers, counselors, and administrators about career opportunities for their students, and the skills and knowledge required to take advantage of those opportunities.
  • Make human and financial resources available to Delaware students, faculty, and administrators.

The partnership between the Office for School-To-Work and the BIE Alliance focuses on programs and services. These programs serve thousands of young people in our schools and they require many volunteers to make them work. Programs require a minimum of three hours to a maximum of fifteen hours of combined training and presentation per year. There is surely one that fits your interests and availability. Please take a look at the opportunities that you have to make a difference in your community.
