Mission Statement

BTUSAR is the areas oldest & largest [501(c)(3)] charity organization working exclusively for those who celebrate the areas aquatic beauty. We are especially committed to making the Barnegat Bay and other water spots cleaner and healthier for people and wildlife.

Berkeley Bay & Shore Watch is BTUSAR's year round program for protecting our water environment. It has two basic forms.

  • First, we are committed to provide ( dial 911 ) emergency medical support and transport services whenever Ocean County suffers from a natural or man-made water disaster.

  • Second, we partner with scientific researchers, concerned citizens, business leaders and other community groups to protect natural open spaces by surveying the environment for potential hazards.

Save Our Seahorses is a mission we support by collecting Seahorse habitat data during underwater search and recovery exercises.
