Mission Statement

Maintain a relentless system of strategically integrated programs that support national service upon direction from Congress and the President to: provide manpower to the DoD for military service in the event of a national emergency or as required, maintain a program to conscript health care personnel and implement an Alternative Service Program for registrants classifed as conscientious objectors. VISION STATEMENT: As the Nation's third tier of defense to provide manpower to the DoD in the event of a national emergency, the Selective Service System will also become the Nation's inrivaled provider of manpower for national service during peacetime and build greater public value for registration to sustain all naational readiness objectives and capabilities. GOALS: to meet all customer requirements the first time, every time. Enhance National preparedness and readiness by ensuring a fair and equitable registration system to support mobilization in the event of a National Emergency. Improve productivity and customer service through state-of-the-art automation and technology to meet National objectives. Strengthen a work environment that encourages a tradition of excellence, upward mobility and equal opportunity. Guarantee the optimal use of human, material and fiscal resources.
