To honor the man and the dream of Martin Luther King, Jr. by service and celebration in Santa Barbara.

Description

For two years the Martin Luther King, Jr.. Steering Committee, since its inception has held unity marches and celebrations honoring Dr. King, Jr. Participants danced in traditional Ring-Shout circles, school children read in poetry and essay contests, youth learned to use film and edit their products, speakers gave inspirational invocations and messages. and talented musical performers rose up an audience of over 1,800 in 2009. Our committee also sponsorsed a filmed of Central High,50 years later," and participates in the African American Heritage Film Festival.
