Description
The mission of SYI is to mobilize young people through an ecumenical network of churches and youth organizations in order to develop a new generation of leaders eager to serve, empower, and advocate for positive social change through community and faith directed service. Coordinated locally, regionally and nationally by Sojourners, the Sojourners Youth Initiative is developing and mobilizing youth leadership around specific goals. The SYI through its network of churches, community-based organizations and Historically Black and Faith-Based Colleges and Universities will identify, train, and link a new generation of effective Black & White young Servant Leaders who will be focused on building new bridges between communities of middle class & poor people and white and black churches.
