Mission Statement

The University Area Enrichment Association works to improve quality of life for people who live, work, attend school, worship, and volunteer in the neighborhoods surrounding Ohio State University. We do this by utilizing the tools of individual and community empowerment. We support solutions which develop best practices to be replicated in other communities.

Description

Vision Statement

The University Area is a thriving racially and socio-economically diverse community with:

  • quality affordable housing for people at all income levels, with over 30% owner occupancy
  • economically vital businesses employing and patronized by local residents
  • a clean environment producing a healthy citizenry;
  • educationally enriching opportunities for residents of all ages;
  • a flourishing arts community; and
  • safe, clean, and socially just neighborhoods.

Goals

  • To identify local manifestations of international problems then utilize the resources here to create solutions that can be replicated elsewhere
  • To find ways to say "yes" to the good ideas people already have to improve University Area neighborhoods.
  • To demand problems and opportunities in our community are holistically addressed.
