Mission Statement

The PEF is a US tax-exempt nonprofit dedicated to raising funds and making grants to create access to early childhood education for children in rural Africa. It works to empower Africa's poor children through early learning opportunities.

Description

The PEF is a a relatively new (Est. Dec. 2007) and small nonprofit, registered in the State of New Jersey. It has a public charity status with the IRS, under section 501 (c) (3) IRS Code. Its main activities are fundraising and grant making to provide low cost or free preschool education in Africa, particularly Nigeria. Funds are provided to support the programs of early learning centers in Africa with nonprofit status in their countries of origin. Funds are made available in support of recreational, nutritional, parent education, school expansion, staff training and other programs.
