Mission Statement

Mountain Shadows Support Group operates two residential facilities and one adult day program for individuals with developmental disabilities in San Diego and Riverside County.

The mission of Mountain Shadows Community Homes is to provide the best possible environment for our residents to achieve maximum independence and improved self-esteem through the superior habilitation, training, and support systems.

The mission of Mountain Shadows Special Kids Homes is to promote optimal health, development, and independence for medically fragile individuals, with or at risk for developmental disabilities, in homes within the community, through exceptional nursing and supportive services by a nurturing team of professionals.

The mission of Mountain Shadows Outreach Services is to rekindle the excitement of exploration and open new doorways to learning that will enrich lives and inspire all individuals to achieve their greatest potential.

Description

Mountain Shadows offers a variety of activities for our residents. All activities are designed to provide safe enjoyment while providing opportunities for special interaction, in addition to supporting the residents with becoming active, visible members of their community. Each Mountain Shadows resident has the opportunity to participate in many varied activities. Some activities may include all the residents who live in a home, while other activities may be more individualized in nature. Mountain Shadows staff are trained to encourage participation and assist the resident as needed to allow for maximum enjoyment of the activity.
