Mission Statement

Winnebago County's oldest museum: recording residents' participation in the Armed Forces and preserving the legacy of local veterans.

Description

Veterans Memorial Hall is a former GAR Hall, dedicated in 1903 by President Theodore Roosevelt. Home to many veterans' organizations through the years, the Hall is a repository of military artifacts and archival records. The Lincoln Lyceum (auditorium) in the Hall has hosted Balls, DAR proceedings, art exhibits, weddings and symposiums. The site welcomes guests to tour galleries presenting Winnebago County residents' participation in the Armed Forces. Spaces in the Hall are available for functions.
