Mission Statement

United Neighbors of Lower Roxbury (UNLR) is a neighborhood association dedicated to maintaining and improving the quality of life in Lower Roxbury, a historic neighborhood in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts. UNLR members include residents, property owners and business owners working together for a better neighborhood. In addition to maintaining the neighborhood, UNLR gives its members a voice in a changing community.

Description

The United Neighbors of Lower Roxbury (UNLR) and A Village at Work (AVAW) are seeking qualified applicants for a Community Relations Internship. UNLR and AVAW are working together to revitalize a community building located at 90 Windsor Street in Roxbury. The building will be a state-of-the-art, LEED-certified facility for community-based cultural, social, recreational, and organizational events.

The project site is located at 90 Windsor Street in Lower Roxbury, but interns can work off-site. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least 8-10 hours per week. Hours are flexible and available Monday through Saturday. Interns/volunteers are required to attend a mandatory planning meetings once per month and have one hour weekly supervisory session.
