Laubach Literacy of Ventura County is an all volunteer organization that trains and supports volunteers who provide free student-centered tutoring to adults seeking to learn English and understand U.S. culture.

Description

There are many needs in our society that can only be resolved by good people who choose to do the right thing.

For over 40 years, Laubach Literacy of Ventura County, Inc.(LLVC), has provided a solution, through the generosity of volunteers, to the needs of thousands of county residents struggling with a serious handicap, the limited ability to communicate in the English language . Language proficiency is essential to success in every society or culture.

Laubach Literacy of Ventura County, Inc.(LLVC) is looking for good people who can give a few hours a week to another human being who is struggling with a limited ability to communicate. We provide free training, materials, and support to volunteers who tutor local adult residents of many cultural backgrounds and language skill levels.The tutor and student set their own times and places to work together.

We always have many students waiting for a tutor to become available. This is an opportunity where you can see the progress, results and benefits week by week.
