The mission of 4-H is to develop a bedrock of life skills like self-esteem, communication, planning, decision making, and teamwork. The Washington State University 4-H Bonney Lake Challenge Program is designed to build positive values and leadership skills in today's youth. 4-H is a world leader in this effort, through the use of experiential, learn-by-doing, activities and research based curricula. The challenge program utilizes adventure based education. The participants develop good communication, decision making & problem solving skills. They learn to plan, set goals, and work together as a team, while developing self-esteem. Reserahc indicates that such skills prevent at-risk youth from becoming troubled, and help troubled youth turn around. They are also the skills needed in the workplace.
WSU 4-H Challenge is an adeventure based experiential education designed to foster team development and personal growth.
