Westmont Jaycees

Description

The Junior Chamber or Jaycees organization is referred to as "The organization of choice for young people!" Now in its eighth decade of service, it continues to provide direction and leadership to communities, states and nations around the world.

The Junior Chamber is a constructive action organization of men and women, ages 18-40.

Members develop personally and professionally as leaders in their communities by investing time and energy in civic affairs. The Westmont Junior Chamber of Commerce (Westmont Jaycees) was founded in 1994. Our membership numbers over 30 active members who help make our community a great place to live. Our 2010 goal is to increase membership to 60. We serve the community in 4 ways:

COMMUNITY AFFAIRS: Activities and projects are created and implemented through our chapter to benefit Westmont area residents and organizations.

INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT: In addition to the volunteer work we do, we are also interested in helping our members build leadership and personal skills that they can use in their professional world. Many of our members have received jobs and promotions due to their experience in the Jaycees.

MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT: Raising funds is one of the most complex area's of our chapter. We have many projects that will touch on the other areas of development, but our focus from these projects is the money that we will raise and how those funds will be used. There is a wide array of fundraising, some go toward projects directly and others go the day to day operations of the chapter.

MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Recruiting, developing, and encouraging members is a vital role in the Jaycees. The Westmont Junior Chamber currently has members of diverse backgrounds and careers. We are always looking to expand our network to include many more people. The next star could be YOU!
