Mission Statement
The Southeastern Indiana Voices for Children GAL/CASA Program of Jefferson & Ripley Counties, Indiana (hereafter referred to as Voices for Children) is an organization that recruits, screens, and trains volunteers child advocates to work in the court system in collaboration with other key agencies, legal counsel, and community resources to represent the best interest of children in juvenile court proceedings. GAL/CASA volunteers make recommendations regarding appropriate protective and rehabilitative services necessary to ensure a safe and permanent home for every child adjudicated as a child in need of services within the two counties.
Description
Voices for Children is a child advocacy program which exists to promote the best interests of children who have been abused or neglected and have been made wards of the state of Indiana. The volunteer advocates work with legal professionals, Department of Child Services case workers, schools, medical facilities, etc to ensure that the needs of these children are met and that these children are placed eventually returned to their home or that they are placed in a safe and permanent home, either through foster care or adoption.
