Description
Madison-area Urban Ministry (MUM) is a private, non-profit interfaith social justice organization. Founded in 1973, our agency has focused on fair and affordable housing, homelessness, economic justice, poverty, racism, quality education, healthcare reform and criminal justice system reform.
In addition to our advocacy work we have several direct service program. Our Mentoring Connections program matches caring adults as mentors to children ages 4-17 who have an incarcerated parent.
Our Circles of Support, Journey Home and Voices Beyond Bars programs assist individuals returning to the community from jail and prison.
MUM has also served as an incubator for over 25 organizations in our community. We are currently the incubator for the Allied Wellness Center, Street Pulse Newspaper (a homeless cooperative) and the Allied Drive Neighborhood Association.
