The mission of the California Department of Parks and Recreation is to provide for the health, inspiration, and education of the people of California by helping to preserve the state's extraordinary biological diversity, protecting its most valued natural and cultural resources, and creating opportunities for high quality outdoor recreation.

Description

We are the California State Parks! We offer educational and environmental programs of all types. We have opportunities for docents who provide learning experiences in museum settings to outdoor hiking. We offer camphost settings in which our volunteers have great opportunities to work with the public on a daily basis. We have various special events that require assistance in both fund raising and on-site help. Opportunities abound for those not only with people skills, but also skills in office, administration and computers. We also need those with various sorts of creative skills from music to crafts.
