Mission Statement

Our Mission is to rescue and find homes for adoptable stray and unwanted cats. We spay and neuter each of our cats and kittens prior to them being adopted. We provide this service prior to their adoption to prevent litters of unwanted kittens. Each cat is placed in a foster home, receives medical care provided by local veterinarians, and eventually available for adoption.

Description

Prancing Paws Animal Rescue is a small non-profit, no-kill organization dedicated to saving stray and unwanted cats and kittens.

We assist animals in need, but our primary focus is cats. We rescue mainly stray and unwanted cats, as well as feral kittens. We provide medical care, food, and shelter for all the cats and kittens in our rescue. All cats and kittens are altered, FIV/ FeLV negative, current on vaccinations, and treated for fleas and worms before adopted out. All paperwork is provided.

We do not have a main location and depend solely on donations from the public.

My family adopted two kittens from Prancing Paws. We sheltered them for several weeks, only returning them when they insisted that their organization had to have them fixed. After the surgery, the kittens were dropped off at a random volunteer’s house. The volunteer told us that she kept several outdoor cats and that she had let our kittens out of their box to play with them. Not long after the kittens arrived home, they developed bald spots, the skin began crumpling off them and they were left with wet open wounds. We went to our vet and he said it was a very contagious infection. After telling him how we adopted them, the vet said that Prancing Paws was responsible. When we called the representative from Prancing Paws, he made it very clear that he did not care. He found the unhygienic conditions funny and mocked the kittens’ illness. No one from Prancing Paws was willing to do anything to help the animals they claimed to care about. It is quite the opposite: they make animals sick.
