It is the mission of Huntersville Parks and Recreation Department to provide a localized system of parks and recreation resources and services to enhance the quality of life of Huntersville residents.
Huntersville Parks and Recreation Department's parks division maintains and operates over 230 acres of developed parkland and over 410 acres of undeveloped parkland. Over 877,000 park patrons visit our parks annually. Some of the most used parks in the Mecklenburg County are in Huntersville with over 1,800 baseball and softball games played in Huntersville parks yearly. The department also hosted 25 sporting events in 2008 which generated an estimated $3.5 million in economic impact. North Mecklenburg Park was the host site for the 2008 National Softball Association World Series for Girl's 8U and 10U Fast-Pitch Softball.
