Our goal is to build a collection of powerful stories that will inspire, empower, and draw community members together to re-imagine and re-tell the story of East Oakland.

Description

Site and Project Details:
Our Oakland : Eastside Stories http://ouroakland.org is a community based public art project that will beautify the new East Oakland Community Library and create an online archive of community stories about East Oakland. These stories can be shared as written word, video, images or audio. Artist Rene Yung developed this project through a commission from the Oakland Public Art Program. We're building this site to let everyone know about the diversity and assets within the community.
