Rivercross Hospice provides supportive services to terminally ill patients wherever they call home; whether it be a private residence or an assisted living facility. Our mission is to provide and promote the best quality of care for our patients and their families and we truly believe animal therapy holds a big place in providing a quality of life at a persons end-of-life. A visit from a therapy animal brings an immense amount of joy and fulfillment to our patients. Our team has witnessed the therapeutic component of having a therapy animal visit, such as lowered blood pressure, pain management, tactile stimulation, emotional release, and much more. If you have a certified pet therapy animal, we would love to have you on our team. NO previous hospice experience is necessary!! We provide a comprehensive hospice training as well as ongoing education and support. Volunteers must submit to a background check, and 2 step TB testing provided at no cost by our agency. Volunteer Opportunities are located all over Northeastern Oklahoma For more information, please reach out to the Volunteer Coordinator, Angelique Adams, 918.636.0158

Want to engage your heart, mind and spirit? Consider becoming a Hospice Volunteer with Rivercross Hospice Volunteer program. Our Volunteers are vital members of the hospice patient’s care team. Volunteers are trained to listen and provide companionship for our patients during their end-of-life journey. Through screening and orientation, our volunteers understand the hospice philosophy; to provide as much comfort and quality of life to our patients as possible. Volunteers provide companionship in many different ways; reading to patients, doing crafts, taking them outside in their wheelchair, accompanying them to a meal, playing cards, writing letters, and sometimes just sitting quietly next to a patient’s bedside. Some Volunteers even bring an extra area of skill with them, such as haircuts, music, and pet therapy. It is our goal to provide a volunteer for every patient who would like companionship. We are always looking for passionate, caring people who would like to give a part of themselves in this capacity. All who are interested can contact the Rivercross Volunteer Coordinator via email, aadams@rivercrosshospice.com or call the Volunteer Coordinator, Angelique Adams, at 918.636.0158

Rivercross Hospice provides services for terminally ill patients throughout NE Oklahoma. Our mission is to provide and promote the best quality of care for patients and families facing end-of-life issues and it is our belief that one way we can accomplish this, is by helping our future generation be more educated and trained when it comes to end-of-life care. That is why we love having our interns on site. Rivercross Hospice strives to offer rewarding internship experiences. Student interns will find that they are treated as part of the interdisciplinary team at RCH. We recognize that student contributions are valuable, and include them in the same meetings and trainings as RCH employees, giving them the opportunity to learn from experienced staff while also providing their own unique insight. All interns with work with the Intern Coordinator on site to develop their specific goals. RCH offers internship opportunities that meet the needs of students seeking nursing/healthcare, social work/human services, and administrative fields. We are proud of the role we play in training students to experience the healthcare field. RCH considers an internship a success if an intern leaves feeling as if they were treated as a valued, equal part of the RCH team. During this time, the student intern will be given the opportunity for exposure in: 1. Direct interaction with clients and families 2. Contact with personnel in all of the organization's departments. 3. Interaction with external environmental forces. 4. Exposure to organizational policies, procedures, planning, financing, etc. 5. Community involvement including health fairs, trade shows, meetings, professional association activities, etc. 6. Day and night shifts, weekends, holidays, etc. 7. Special assignments, projects, studies, etc.

***Calling Seamstresses in Bartlesville, Pryor, Tulsa, Muskogee and surrounding areas!!!*** We all have that favorite shirt, dress, pair of pants or article of clothing that brings comfort and familiarity when we wear it. For the loved ones of our hospice patients, having a familiar tangible item to hold, smell, and touch as they grieve can make all the difference. Through our Memorial Program, we have a group of Volunteers who are experienced sewers that turn the clothing from our patients into a keepsake memory bear. We provide the bear pattern, stuffing and clothing items...volunteers provide their talent and time. ********************************************** Rivercross Hospice is looking for people who can commit to making at least three Bears a month for our Bereaved families. We would love for you to be as creative as possible. The bear may be dressed in grandpa's favorite flannel shirt, carrying a fishing pole, and wearing a fishing hat, just like grandpa. Or a bear wearing mom's favorite floral dress with gardening gloves. The sky really is the limit when creating these Memorial Bears. If you would like more information about our Memorial Bears, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator, Angelique Adams, at 918.636.0158
