To promote the alleviation of poverty in Kenya, East Africa by providing micro-loans, business education, health education, and health support with an emphasis on HIV/AIDS, malaria and mother/child wellness programs.

Description

A. VHI is an international, non-profit, public benefit, non-political organization established in 1982 to foster economic and social progress.
B. The Corporation is a non-profit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes.
C. The specific and primary purposes for which the Corporation is formed are exclusively charitable and educational. VHI is an economic and social development corporation committed to assisting people in African villages beginning in Kenya, East Africa to learn how to provide for their health, food, education and general welfare and helping them gain the basic knowledge and skills needed to make their way into the future with hope and confidence. VHI's objectives include: encouraging the creation of and helping to bring about a sense of community among individuals and organizations committed to development; engaging in activities that will contribute to the development of the economies and communities involved; providing support and services to persons or communities committed to desirable development objectives; and providing needed technical assistance.
