Mission Statement

In their junior year, all NMC students will spend half their school day at the Auraria campus and the other half at CEC taking career classes. Students are encouraged to take CCD courses at the Auraria campus. The mission of the middle college is to prepare students so they may test into CCD-level courses and support them while continuting their education on the college campus.

Description

North High School and CEC Middle College are pleased to be partnering beginning with the 2009-2010 school year. CEC Middle College offers a curriculum that emphasizes inclusive, cooperation and experiential learning. NHS offers the students a core academic focus. Freshman entering Middle College of Denver at North High School will spend half their day on the North Campus taking their core academic class and the other half of their day on the CEC Campus in career classes. By opening a Middle College of Denver program on the NHS Campus, an additional 100 students will have the opportunity to participate in the middle college program. These additional 100 students will be enrolled as fulltime NHS students and will immediately increase CEC's career program enrollment.
