Mission Statement

Dade Heritage Trust is devoted to the preservation of historic architecture in Miami-Dade County. In addition, DHT works on projects that aim to preserve the cultural and environmental resources of South Florida.

Description

Dade Heritage Trust is Miami-Dade County's largest preservation organization. We have worked to restore the Cape Florida Lighthouse, to support the restoration of the Freedom Tower, the Miami City Cemetery and many other sites. We helped stop the development of the Miami Circle archaeological site and recently assisted in preventing the Homestead Airforce Base from becoming the future site of a major commercial airport. WE work to preserve the architectural, cultural, and environmental rewsources of Miami-Dade COunty through education and advocacy.
