Mission Statement

To provide support, advocacy, and emergency shelter for victims of domestic abuse, child abuse and sexual abuse, regardless of gender, and to heighten community awareness of such abuse in Towns and Union Counties.

Description

S.A.F.E., Support in Abusive Family Emergencies, Inc., is a private, no-for-profit corporation established to provided services to victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault.

S.A.F.E. is goverened by a Board of Directors. Ideally, such representatives will be from businesses, civic, government, education, law enforcement, and medical fields. Former survivors of abuse are encouraged to be involved.

S.A.F.E. meets the standards set forth by the Georgia Department of Human Services. We are a certified domestic shelter program and an approved Rape Crisis Center.

Grant Funding is received from State, Federal, and private sources.

Local donations, fundraising events, and the S.A.F.E. Thrift stores comprise the balance of the funding resources.

All S.A.F.E. services are free of charge, confidential, and are offered on a non-discriminatory basis.
