Mission Statement

The BTWCSC mission continues to be working for a healthy and vibrant community. We focus on reducing the many disparities that face African Americans, immigrants, young people and others in our community by being a forum for organizing and providing educational opportunities, health care advocacy, housing organizing and information, employment and job training, foster care advocacy and support, senior clubs, youth and family programs, a food pantry, and after school and summer programs.

Description


Building on a rich history, culture and reputation, we focus on guiding the development of youth and young adults. We continue our history of serving families and friends who come to us through a web of recommendations via the grape-vine. This community web increasingly includes recent immigrants and coordinated activities with other community based organizations.

Many African American residents, no matter where in the city they currently live, have participated with Booker T services in the past and still come here. Many know the current staff. Generations of African Americans have been a part of the Booker T Community.
