Mission Statement

Create sustainable change for those affected by the cycle of poverty through profits from Finnegans Irish Amber and other innovative products and events.

Description

Finnegans Community Fund generates its profits through the proceeds of Finnegans Irish Amber. In 1999, Jacquie Bergland had a big idea - create a tasty, locally brewed beer the gives 100% of profits to local charities. Jacquie, a social entrepreneur, decided early that operating a successful business is the best way to fund life-changing opportunities for people. Cheers! Now with the help of inspired volunteers from all walks of life, Finnegans Irish Amber is enjoyed across Minnesota and is expanding to Wisconsin, in bars, pubs, restaurants and liquor stores.

Values: We wish to create social change by developing innovative business models and exploring social entrepreneurship opportunities. We believe that awareness about pressing issues can be broadened through events and environments that are fun and social. We value the need to give back to the community and we support creative exploration and innovations in developing new sustainable ways of giving back.

Turning beer into food. Founded in 2000 in Minneapolis, FINNEGANS is a
self-sustaining and inspirational social business. Through the sale of its Amber Ale (and soon-to-be released Blonde Ale), FINNEGANS has created an innovative business model that allows the company to create community wealth. How? One
hundred percent of the profits are donated to the FINNEGANS Community Fund (501c3) to support hunger alleviation programs in every market where FINNEGANS is sold. In Minnesota, fresh produce is purchased from local farms and distributed to area food shelves through the Emergency Foodshelf Network’s Harvest for the Hungry Program. FINNEGANS’ long-term goal is to scale similar programs to out-of-state beer markets (currently North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin). Now, is there a better reason to raise a pint of
FINNEGANS?
