Mission Statement

Leading India's Future Today is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 and dedicated to developing leadership excellence among motivated and talented youth in Tamil Nadu, India. LIFT provides education and leadership training for children from various religious and social castes in order to develop community leaders. LIFT students and staff are committed to transforming their society from within to help combat poverty, unemployment and disease.

Description

Through partnerships between a US-based fundraising committee, an Irish fundraising committee, and local educators and community leaders in India, LIFT's goals are:

• Educate exceptional children that would typically be denied schooling, and create community leaders.

• Build a campus facility and boarding school in Palayamkottai, Tamil Nadu.

• Practice leadership training skills in day-to-day boarding facilities and in health camps held in the students' communities of origin. Empower students to become change agents.

• Sponsor local community and economic development efforts in which students actively engage.
