Mission Statement

The mission of the Friends of the PKD Foundation is to assist, on a regional and local basis, the national efforts of the PKD Foundation to determine the cause, improve clinical treatment and discover a cure for polycystic kidney disease (PKD).

Description

CHAPTERS focus on the following: (1)assisting patients and their family members by encouraging, providing information and listening (2)fostering public awareness about the disease to patients, the public, the medical community and the media (3)educating others about PKD by hosting educational seminars (4)attracting individuals, corporations and foundations interested in financially supporting PKD research, education, awareness and membership (5)helping to lobby for increased federal funding for PKD research at the National Institutes of Health
