Mission Statement

The Lynn Woods Reservation is a recreational resource for the citizens of Lynn and the greater Boston area. The park is a favorite among hikers, runners and mountain bikers. The Lynn Woods Volunteer Program was created to help the Park Ranger maintain and improve this 2,200-acre forest while providing volunteers with a rewarding, productive outdoor experience.

Description

The Lynn Woods Reservation is the second largest municipally owned park in the United States. Because it is a municipal park, Lynn Woods lacks the resources to maintain the level of staffing that would be found in a state operated park of this size. Volunteers help to fill this gap by assisting with programming and maintenance needs. Some examples of past volunteer contributions include; assisting with school groups, acting as tour guides, restoring the formal rose garden, trail maintenance, bog bridge building, litter clean-ups and invasive weed control.
