Mission Statement

The Walt Disney Family Museum documents, preserves, presents and interprets knowledge of and appreciation for Walt Disney, his work, his legacy, and collections related to him.

Description

The Purpose of The Walt Disney Family Museum is to tell the complete story of the "man behind the myth," the person who was Walt Disney and who still, more than years after his death, remains one of the most universally loved people in history. The museum will educate, entertain, and inspire people of all ages by showing how Walt Disney, through inspired hard work, positive belief in what he was doing, and a very close supportive family, grew from humble beginnings to become an icon of entertainment and goodwill throughout the world. More than showing how Walt Disney influenced all our childhoods, the museum will educate the public about the impact Walt Disney had on urban planning, the technical development of the film industry, and on U.S. foreign relations.

I have visited the Walt Disney Family Museum repeatedly (even though it has only been open ~5 weeks) and have found the staff to be very friendly, helpful, and truly excited to share this beautiful facility. I can't think of a better way to celebrate creativity, innovation, a commitment to quality and excellence - than to volunteer at the museum that is dedicated to sharing the story of the amazing man who embodied all of these attributes.
