ASSISTANCE LEAGUE of Riverside, a chapter of NATIONAL ASSISTANCE LEAGUE is an all volunteer nonprofit, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization. Alert to the needs of the community we provide new school clothing and hygiene kits through Operation School Bell to children that are otherwise not provided for. Children are referred to us by local school districts and come to our chapter house to "shop" for their "own" clothing. Our Operations Snack Attack program delivers bags of nutritious snack foods to homeless children referred by Riverside elementary schools to help them through the weekend.We provide Scholastic Aptitude Test study guides to school children preparing to attend college. We provide teddy bears to local emergency and law enforcement agencies to ditribute to victims of trauma, accident or abuse. Our programs are supported by several fundraising activities. The main source of funds is our Thrift Shop which is staffed entirely with volunteers.
