Mission Statement

The Richmond Emergency Food Pantry is a non-profit, 100% volunteer organization providing emergency food packages to those in need since 1971.

Description

Volunteers organize and distribute food supplies for those in need on Tuesdays and Fridays of each week. Clients are eligible to receive food once per month. In September of 2009, the pantry received 1131 referrals and provided food for 3436 clients. Food is bought at the Contra Costa Food Bank from donation money, donated by individuals or is from the USDA. Each month in the past year requests for assistance have increased.
