Mission Statement

Fresh Start provides education, employment skills and career direction for at-risk young adults by involving them in the construction of a new house. When completed, the house is sold to an income eligible family in the community.

Western Dairyland is a community action agency that serves Eau Claire, Buffalo, Trempealau and Jackson counties. Western Dairyland works to alleviate poverty-related conditions for economically disadvantaged families and individuals, and help them achieve self-sufficiency.

Description

Many participants are in need of guidance in several areas in their lives. Some barriers participants have overcome are: lack of high school diploma, driver's license or housing; definicency in emotional or social skills; single and/or young parenting. We work with the participants one-on-one to help them overcome these barriers so they are prepared to enter the workforce or college as responsible citizens.
