Mission Statement
The on-going mission of Literacy Unlimited is to provide a solid, comprehensive program for training volunteer tutors to teach basic reading, writing and/or computational skills to adult learners, age sixteen and over, including those whose second language is English.
Description
Literacy Unlimited is a non-profit, volunteer organization founded to combat the problems of adult literacy in the MetroWest area. Established in 1986 through a grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, Literacy Unlimited has been a affiliate of Literacy Volunteers of America (LVA) since 1988. LVA is a national organization with over thirty years of tutoring experience. Literacy Unllimited is housed in and sponsored by the Framingham Public Library.
