Mission Statement
The MAAC Community Charter School (MCCS) was established in 2001. It is chartered under the Sweetwater Union High School District in Chula Vista, California, just south of San Diego near the border with Mexico. Its mission is to provide low-income, "at-promise" students in grades 9-12 through age 20 the opportunity to earn a high school diploma in a small, supportive educational environment where progress is expected and different learning styles are valued.
Description
We offer all the core classes necessary for entry to community college and five Career Pathways enhanced by project based learning. The school opened with 55 students and has increased enrollment to 300 students taught by a faculty of 17 credentialed teachers. The campus features more than 30,000 square feet, including 13 classrooms, state-of-the-art computer technology laboratories, a multi-media classroom, a science lab, a library and a large multi-purpose room.
